The exam results for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates are out, and as a Ministry, we join all the candidates across the country in celebrating their performance as they await to join secondary school.
As I congratulate the candidates, I particularly wish to take note of the good performance of the children who are under the protection of one of our agencies, the Child Welfare Society of Kenya (CWSK).
The candidates in the various CWSK Temporary Places of Safety (TPS) did us proud by beating all odds to post a very good general performance in the KCPE exams. Fifteen candidates from the various TPSs scored 360 marks and above. Indeed, a total of 37 children scored above 300 marks, while 55 scored above 250 marks. This is exceptional performance, bearing in mind that some of the children joined school late, while others came from extremely difficult circumstances. It is an indication that they worked hard, and were given the best environment possible to enable them concentrate in their education. I take this opportunity to also congratulate all the children who sat the KCPE 2023 exams.
